SCOPE
Youth leadership training program development and training of trainers

Challenge
Acknowledging that 32% of Tmorese between 15-24 are not in employment, education or training (NEET), we were challenged to develop a training program to upskill the youth, leveraging their critical thinking and equipping them with tools to assist them in their self-development journey.
Process
Desk and field research, including interviews and group sessions with 4 youth groups from rural contexts.
Once the youth leadership training program was developed, it was pilot-tested with WV-TL facilitators from the various districts.

Results
We developed a project-based training program consisting of a booklet, two sets of cards and digitally stored templates.
The training program was praised as of being on target, engaging and easy to deploy, leading World Vision to assessing its local adaptation to other geographies in Asia.
